In the report of the Auditor General of Pakistan, it has been revealed that the Ministry of Finance issued 4 awards worth 24 crore rupees to illegal officers and staff in 1 year.

The audit report said that under the law federal employees can be given an honorarium for special work, the Prime Minister had instructed in 2020 that the Finance Division or ECC cannot approve the honorarium.
According to the report, it is against the law to issue 4 gratuities equal to the basic salary to the employees in 1 year. To save income tax, the gratuity was issued on demand draft instead of cross cheque.
The audit report also stated that the income tax slab of the officers was kept low by not including the honorarium in the salary.
