As a result of the sinking of the migrant boat in the West African country of Senegal, 26 passengers died and dozens went missing.
According to the report of the British Broadcasting Corporation, the boat departed from the city of Embor, 80 km from the capital of Senegal, carrying more than 100 passengers, but sank after traveling only 4 km.
According to the report, the fishing boat was headed towards Spain’s Canary Islands carrying the migrants.
The majority of the passengers on the boat were young people who wanted to enter Spain in search of a better future, with Senegalese nationals also on board, as well as Guinean, Mauritanian, and Gambian nationals.
According to the authorities, out of 100 people on board the boat, 26 died while 4 have been rescued, the search for the missing persons is on.
