Islamabad: Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has claimed that he did not know that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah would not become the Chief Justice.
Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, stated that when they came to power in 2008, they did not claim that rigging had occurred at that time. He pointed out that a two-thirds majority was taken away in 2008, yet they still engaged in constitutional reforms. He questioned whether Zia-ul-Haq was granted authority by the court for constitutional reforms.
He remarked that while PTI members talk about Form 47, they claim that the PPP was ‘selected.’ Bilawal emphasized, ‘I am neither associated with Form 47 nor am I selected. The allegation against the PPP regarding constitutional reforms being influenced by the military is false.’
Bilawal added that the implementation of the points of the Charter of Democracy was done not at the behest of the establishment but on his mother’s advice. He mentioned that his father’s tongue was cut out, and he was kept in jail for eleven and a half years, questioning whether they had acted similarly upon coming to power.
Regarding Imran Khan, he said that the founder of PTI is now facing the consequences of his actions, adding that it is unfortunate that Pakistan’s politics is heading in the direction desired by the PTI founder.
