A review meeting of the PTA was held to implement the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs to close down unregistered VPNs.
Crackdown against unregistered VPNs will be started from December 1, PTA sources say that one trial of VPN shutdown has been successfully completed, and the second trial of VPN shutdown will be conducted in the near future. Will be done in days.
PTA says that unregistered VPN holders are being given time to register before the closure, unregistered VPNs are a security risk, and sensitive data can be accessed from unregistered VPNs.
Objectionable content can be accessed from unregistered VPNs, it is PTA’s responsibility to block access to objectionable content.
