According to news, Senator Saleem Mandviwala of the People’s Party sent a letter to the Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, in which he demanded to call for a meeting on the requisition of PAC members. Senator Salim Mandviwala also asked Speaker Ayaz Sadiq for help and said in a letter that until a permanent chairman is appointed, the committee members should choose their chairman through election.
According to the sources, the Speaker of the National Assembly asked for a panel of names from Tehreek-e-Insaf to head the PAC. Former Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser also met Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on this issue. Tehreek-e-Insaf is determined to make Sheikh Waqas Akram the chairman.
On the other hand, PML-N also indicated its support to PPP for the leadership of PAC. After the formation of the government in March, the PAC, the most important committee of the Parliament, has not yet chosen its chairman.
