Washington: A couple from Lancaster County in the US state of Pennsylvania has decided to remarry after nearly 50 years of divorce.
According to News, 89-year-old Fay Gable and 94-year-old Robert Weinrich were divorced in 1975. The wedding ceremony is taking place in Denver and is attended by 14 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Their youngest daughter, Carol Smith, told Lancaster Online, “They’re like two young people in love. They do everything together.
The story of Fay Gable and Robert Weinrich began in the early 1950s when the two met through family. Robert was Fay’s older brother’s best friend. Fay recalls that Robert once told his brothers that he would marry Fay one day. This proved to be the beginning of a passionate romantic relationship, which later turned into marriage and a lifelong partnership.
Despite the happiness of the early years, Fay and Robert divorced in 1975. After that, both went on in their lives remarrying and spending decades with their partners, until their spouses left the world.
During this time, Faye and Robert’s relationship remained cordial and they often attended family events together, which formed the basis for their renewed closeness.
