Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced to take action against the mafia in the passport office.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the state of the art Immigration and Passport Office. Officials at the state-of-the-art Immigration and Passport Office briefed the Home Minister. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also visited various departments of the Passport Office.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the backlog of passports in Pakistan has ended. Issues in passport and NADRA offices have been resolved. Whereas in the past there was a backlog of 6.6 months in the passport office.
He said that the public is being dealt with well at passport and NADRA offices. Efforts will be made to establish a Passport and Immigration Authority. There is also a need to establish a model office in Lahore.
The Interior Minister said that NADRA offices in 14 to 16 cities are operational 24 hours a day. Now, citizens will receive their passports and identity cards quickly. Action will be taken against the mafia at passport offices.
He said that providing facilities to the public is the most important thing, and the state-of-the-art passport office is the result of everyone’s hard work.
