KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has requested parents to cooperate with polio workers.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the National Anti-Polio Campaign. He launched a campaign by giving anti-polio drops to children in the Chief Minister’s House.
Speaking on the occasion, Murad Ali Shah said that the anti-polio campaign will continue from February 3 to 9. And in the province, one million 6 million children will be vaccinated against polio.
He said that the frontline polio workers should go from house to house to vaccinate the children. However, 21,844 security personnel have been deployed to protect the polio workers. The role of the police in the anti-polio campaign is commendable.
Talking further about polio, Syed Murad Ali Shah said that Pakistan is only one of the two countries in the world where the polio virus is present.
He requested his parents for cooperation and said that polio workers are the protectors of the future of children and they should be respected. The polio vaccine is safe, effective, and free. And by repeated food, the baby’s strength strengthens the immune system.
The Chief Minister said that everyone has to play their role in making the whole country polio-free, including Sindh.
