England’s fast bowler Jacob Bethell’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy has become uncertain due to a hamstring injury.
As a backup, Tom Banton has been called up to the England squad. The hamstring injury has put the English team in a tough spot, especially as they are currently playing an ODI series in India. Bethell is struggling to recover from the injury.
The 21-year-old pacer was unable to participate in the second ODI of the series on Sunday against India. However, he is expected to play in the third and final ODI in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Jamie Smith is also recovering from a calf injury and is working on regaining full fitness.
