Pakistani actress Nazish Jahangir has revealed that she was supposed to be on the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight that crashed in Karachi nearly five years ago, but she missed the flight.
Speaking on a recent podcast, the actress claimed that she was supposed to board the Lahore-to-Karachi flight of PIA, which crashed into a residential area in Model Colony, Karachi, in 2020. However, due to certain reasons, she missed the flight.
Nazish Jahangir shared that her first air travel experience was with her parents to Saudi Arabia, while her first self-funded trip was to the Maldives with friends. She recalled that when she first landed in Karachi from Islamabad, she didn’t find the city appealing, but over time, she has grown fond of it.
The actress stated that she often misses flights for various reasons, despite trying her best to catch them. She even revealed that once, she missed six flights in a single day, all of which were from Islamabad to Karachi.
While reminiscing about past incidents, she mentioned that she also missed the ill-fated Karachi-bound flight after the COVID-19 lockdown. She explained that she had a confirmed ticket and was supposed to travel to Karachi after completing a 60-day quarantine, but circumstances prevented her from boarding the plane.
Nazish expressed her gratitude after learning about the crash, saying she was relieved that she wasn’t on that flight.
It is noteworthy that in May 2020, a PIA aircraft crashed while attempting to land in Karachi, resulting in the tragic loss of nearly 100 lives. The plane crashed into a residential area, causing significant damage to houses and claiming the lives of some residents as well.
