Karachi: Residents of the city have received good news as electricity rates are expected to decrease by Rs 4.95 per unit.
K-Electric has submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to reduce electricity prices. If approved, consumers will receive relief amounting to Rs 4.94 billion. The reduction request has been filed under the Fuel Price Adjustment (FCA) mechanism.
The expected decrease in electricity rates is part of the December FCA adjustments. NEPRA will hold a hearing on K-Electric’s application on February 26 and will make a final decision after reviewing the request.
This potential reduction comes as a welcome relief for Karachi’s residents, who have been burdened by high electricity costs. Stay tuned for further updates on NEPRA’s decision.
