Following the Pahalgam attack, a meeting of the National Security Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has commenced to review and formulate an effective response to the actions taken by India against Pakistan.
It should be noted that after the false flag operation in Pahalgam, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan and announced the closure of the Attari-Wagah border.
Following a cabinet meeting chaired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs held a press conference announcing the cancellation of all visas issued to Pakistanis and ordering all Pakistani nationals to leave India within 48 hours.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, during the press conference, made announcements regarding the water treaty and border closure.
The spokesperson further stated that the Pakistan High Commission must vacate India within seven days. Additionally, India has declared Pakistan’s Air Force and Navy attachés as persona non grata and has decided to recall its defense attaché from Pakistan.
The spokesperson added that the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 will remain suspended until Pakistan permanently and credibly withdraws its support for cross-border terrorism.
It was also announced that the Integrated Check Post at Attari will be immediately shut down, and only those who have already crossed with proper verification will be allowed to return through this route before May 1, 2025. The spokesperson also announced the suspension of SAARC visas issued to Pakistanis.
