Field Marshal Asim Munir has been invited to participate in the United States Army’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
The invitation has been welcomed by Pakistan and its allies, while causing unease among rivals, particularly the Indian media and anti-Pakistan lobbies, which have become notably active in response.
Field Marshal Munir is scheduled to attend the concluding day of the week-long celebrations, set to take place from June 7 to June 14. However, no official schedule has been released regarding his meetings or other engagements.
According to media reports, U.S. CENTCOM Commander General Michael Erik Kurilla praised Pakistan’s role in the fight against terrorism during a congressional hearing, calling it commendable and constructive.
