A well-known Indian filmmaker has accused actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh of consistently promoting Pakistani artists, claiming that he should be boycotted.
Prominent face of the Punjabi film industry, Diljit Dosanjh, has come under fire from Hindu extremists following the release of the trailer for his new film Sardaar Ji 3. Amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, he is being accused of favoring Pakistani artists.
The controversy intensified after the trailer, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir alongside Diljit, was released. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, speaking to ANI, stated that Diljit Dosanjh always supports Pakistani stars, which the film fraternity should take seriously.
Ashoke Pandit demanded that the producers’ guild ensure Diljit is not cast in any future films. Following the trailer’s release, Diljit has faced criticism not only within the film industry but also on social media, where he is being targeted by Indian extremist circles.
