Torrential monsoon rains continue to lash various cities across the country, leaving much of the nation drenched and struggling.
In Islamabad, heavy rainfall has been ongoing intermittently, with downpours reported in the Blue Area, Aabpara, Bari Imam, Bara Kahu, and Melody. In Punjab, thunderous showers have flooded low-lying areas in Gujrat, Sialkot, Jhelum, Hafizabad, Narowal, Jaranwala, Muridke, and Okara. Several feeders have tripped due to the weather.
Lahore is currently experiencing the most intense monsoon spell to date. Rain continues in multiple areas, with accumulations exceeding 150mm in several parts of the city. The highest recorded rainfall has been 162mm in Nishtar Town.
In Sindh, heavy rains have been reported in Dadu, Sehwan, Jacobabad, Shahdadkot, and Garhi Khairo. Balochistan is also facing severe downpours, with Musa Khel experiencing strong winds and heavy rain, causing widespread power outages. Sibi and Kohlu have also been heavily affected.
The Meteorological Department has forecast more intense rainfall over the next two days, warning of flash floods in streams and landslides in hilly areas. Urban flooding alerts have been issued for major cities in anticipation of worsening conditions.
