Lahore: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid was urgently transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail to Services Hospital due to a serious deterioration in her health.
According to jail authorities, Dr. Rashid faced severe breathing difficulties that led to a critical condition. Medical staff immediately administered oxygen, but as her condition continued to worsen, health experts recommended hospital admission. Sources reported that she was also experiencing acute abdominal and gastric pain, raising further concern over her health.
At Services Hospital, multiple medical tests are being conducted, and a team of specialist doctors is closely monitoring her condition. Additional tests may be carried out to further evaluate her health status.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Yasmin Rashid has been incarcerated in Kot Lakhpat Jail for several months under various cases. During her detention, multiple reports of her poor health have emerged. Her latest health crisis has once again caused anxiety among PTI leadership and supporters, who have consistently demanded her release and access to proper medical care.
This situation has raised questions over whether any immediate action will be taken by the government or judiciary in light of her worsening condition. The issue is being closely observed in political circles, as it also draws attention to the broader concerns regarding medical treatment standards for political prisoners in the country.
A PTI spokesperson expressed deep concern over the incident, demanding that Dr. Yasmin Rashid be provided with the best possible medical facilities and that steps be taken for her release. It remains to be seen whether any relief will be granted by the concerned authorities because of her critical health condition.
