Voting for Senate elections is underway today in the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In KP, a total of 22 candidates are contesting for 11 seats, including 7 general, 2 women, and 2 technocrat seats. In the KP Assembly, out of 145 members, 92 from the government and 53 from the opposition will cast their votes. Yesterday, 25 newly elected members of reserved seats took oath, including 21 women and 4 minority representatives.
Strict security measures have been implemented during the election process. Both provincial assembly halls have been converted into polling stations.
