President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Oman are rooted in shared religion, culture, and values. He stressed the need to further enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement issued by the Press Wing of Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday, the President made these remarks during a meeting with Omani Ambassador Fahd Suleiman Khalaf Al-Kharousi, who called on him at the Presidency.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the long-standing and friendly ties between the two nations. They also held detailed discussions on boosting cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and energy.
President Zardari stated that there are vast opportunities for investment in sectors such as information technology, construction, healthcare, food security, and energy. He noted that close collaboration between the public and private sectors will lead to enhanced economic and trade partnerships.
He also expressed gratitude to Oman for supporting Pakistan’s candidacy for non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council.
