Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has stated that no government can be directly held accountable for natural disasters, as such incidents are beyond human control.
Speaking to the media, Saeed Ghani said that organizations working for the welfare and service of humanity deserve appreciation. He praised SOS for its commendable welfare efforts. He also expressed sorrow over the recent floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, describing the situation as a major humanitarian tragedy.
He added that the Sindh government has also dispatched relief goods and resources to the flood-affected areas in order to ease the suffering of the victims. According to him, there should be no politics over a calamity like floods, as this is the time to show unity rather than division.
The Sindh minister highlighted that urban flooding remains a concern in Sindh and Karachi as well. He recalled that the province has faced similar crises in the past, which is why the government has prioritized drainage work and cleaning of storm-water drains.
Saeed Ghani further said that no government can face such large-scale disasters alone; collective unity and cooperation are essential. He noted that in the past, Sindh’s government was often criticized during such crises, but unnecessary criticism only spreads hopelessness among people and does not contribute to solutions.
