Islamabad: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay an official visit to Pakistan on August 21, during which the sixth round of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue will take place in Islamabad.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the visit is being made at the invitation of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The dialogue will be jointly chaired by Wang Yi and Ishaq Dar.
The spokesperson added that this visit by the Chinese Foreign Minister serves as an important means to further strengthen high-level engagement and deepen bilateral relations between the two countries. During the discussions, both sides are expected to agree on enhancing trade and economic cooperation, as well as reviewing progress on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
It is pertinent to mention that on July 16, 2025, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Wang Yi on the sidelines of the SCO Conference in Tianjin, where they held a comprehensive exchange of views on issues of mutual interest, including regional cooperation and CPEC. On that occasion, both leaders reaffirmed the strength of the “All-Weather Strategic Partnership” between Pakistan and China.
The Foreign Office noted that Wang Yi’s upcoming visit will mark another milestone in deepening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for future cooperation.
