Rain in Karachi has turned the weather pleasant, while the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast heavy showers in the city over the next three to four days. According to the Met Office, intermittent rain is expected to continue throughout the day, while heavy downpours are also predicted for tomorrow.
Several areas of the city witnessed rainfall, including Tariq Road, Azizabad, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Boat Basin, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, Hassan Square, and Federal B Area. Meanwhile, rain was also reported from the airport, Metropole, Shah Faisal, Korangi, Buffer Zone, Surjani, Clifton, Defence, Qayyumabad, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Scheme 33, Safora Chowrangi, and Malir.
Furthermore, light to heavy showers continued in Qaidabad, Korangi, Shah Faisal Colony, Model Colony, Green Town, Wireless Gate, Colony Gate, Gurumandir, Naya Nazimabad, DHA, and Lyari. The rain has caused waterlogging on several roads, disrupting traffic flow in parts of the city.
The Met Office stated that the ongoing system will likely persist until August 23, bringing two to three spells of rainfall across Karachi. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures.
