In Doaba, a region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district, militants belonging to the Khawarij faction attacked the Federal Constabulary (FC) fort, resulting in the martyrdom of three Federal Reserve Police officers and injuries to 18 others. Security forces retaliated swiftly, killing five militants, including one facilitator who was directly aiding the attackers.
According to Hangu’s District Police Officer (DPO), the terrorists specifically targeted the FC fort, but due to the timely resistance from the stationed officers, the assault was prevented from causing larger-scale devastation. He added that the facilitator was working in close coordination with the militants. Meanwhile, a joint operation by police and FC is underway in the Tori Wari area to eliminate any remaining militant hideouts.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack and paid rich tribute to the martyred officers. In his statement, he said that the brave men sacrificed their lives to foil the designs of India-sponsored terrorists. He further stated that the courage and sacrifice of the martyrs would never be forgotten and assured that their blood would not go in vain. The minister also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured personnel.
