The Punjab government has decided to honor Assistant Commissioner Patoki, Farqan Ahmad Khan, who passed away yesterday while performing his duties, with a prestigious civil award. In addition, his family will be granted financial assistance worth Rs. 10 million.
According to reports, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved both the civil award and the financial grant in recognition of Farqan Ahmad’s services. Despite battling cancer, the late officer continued to serve in flood relief operations, providing food, medicine, and essential supplies to the affected people in Patoki’s flood-hit areas.
The Chief Minister praised his dedication, stating that Farqan Ahmad was a true hero who sacrificed his life while serving the people in extremely challenging conditions. She further emphasized that his commitment and sacrifice will always be remembered.
It should be noted that yesterday, while visiting flood-affected areas of Head Baloki in District Kasur, Farqan Ahmad suffered a fatal heart attack. At the time, he was engaged in ongoing rescue and relief efforts for flood victims.
