Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported that rain-bearing clouds are hovering over the western parts of Karachi.
According to a spokesperson, the current monsoon system remains in the form of a depression, with its center located about 60 kilometers west of the city. The system is expected to weaken into a low-pressure area within the next few hours.
Meanwhile, intermittent rain showers continued across various parts of Karachi, bringing relief from the humid weather but raising concerns of waterlogging in low-lying areas. Light to moderate rain was recorded in Burns Road, Saddar, and Yaseenabad in Federal B. Area. Showers were also reported around Landhi, the airport vicinity, and Shara e Faisal, which could potentially slow down traffic flow.
The PMD has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during rain spells and take precautionary measures to ensure safety amid the unstable weather conditions.
