On the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the process of issuing driving licenses to persons with disabilities has officially commenced. A day earlier, the Chief Minister had instructed authorities during an inaugural ceremony to take concrete steps for facilitating the issuance of licenses to differently-abled individuals.
In continuation of these efforts, the NOWPDP team visited the office of DIG Driving License Younus Chandio in Clifton today, where they held a meeting with DSP Driving License Faheem and other officials. During the meeting, discussions were held on the procedure for issuing licenses, and it was agreed that special facilities would be provided through training programs and retrofitted rickshaws.
DIG Driving License Younus Chandio affirmed that full compliance with the Chief Minister’s directives would be ensured. He added that maximum convenience would be created in the licensing process for persons with disabilities, enabling them to enjoy greater independence and mobility like other citizens.
