Eight Muslim countries Pakistan, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt have endorsed U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed 20-point peace plan for Palestine. The plan includes a ceasefire in Gaza, uninterrupted humanitarian aid delivery, prevention of forced displacement, and advancing the regional peace process.
According to a joint statement, the Muslim nations welcomed Trump’s assurance that the annexation of the West Bank will not be permitted and that the safety of the Palestinian people will be safeguarded. The statement also emphasized the countries’ readiness to engage in constructive talks with the U.S. and other international stakeholders to finalize and implement the agreement.
The comprehensive plan also covers the reconstruction of Gaza, provision of humanitarian aid, release of captives, complete withdrawal of Israeli forces, and paving the way for the creation of an independent Palestinian state under the two-state solution.
The foreign ministers stressed that these steps are in line with international law and are essential for sustainable peace, security, and stability in the region.
