The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 18-member national squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa, with three players earning their maiden Test call-ups.
According to details, Shan Masood will continue to lead the Test side, while Asif Afridi, Faisal Akram, and wicketkeeper-batter Rohail Nazir have been included in the Test squad for the first time. The first Test between Pakistan and South Africa will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from October 12 to 16, followed by the second Test in Rawalpindi from October 20 to 24.
Preparations for the series will begin with a training camp in Lahore from September 30 to October 8. The squad will be trimmed before the opening Test. Meanwhile, players currently featuring in the Asia Cup will join the Test squad on October 4.
