Pakistan’s Foreign Office has shared significant progress regarding the release of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan from Israeli custody.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making tireless efforts through its embassy in Amman, Jordan, to ensure the safe return of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan.
The spokesperson added that with the valuable cooperation of the brotherly government of Jordan, Pakistan hopes this process will be completed successfully within the coming days. The Foreign Office expressed sincere gratitude to Jordan for its exemplary support and assistance.
The spokesperson further stated that the ministry had also issued a statement yesterday regarding the ongoing efforts to secure the release of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and other Pakistani nationals detained by Israeli occupation forces.
Through diplomatic sources of a friendly European country, Pakistan has confirmed that the former senator is safe and in good health while in Israeli custody. He will be presented before a local court in accordance with legal procedures, and once deportation orders are issued, his repatriation will be ensured immediately.
The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan remains in active contact with its international partners to guarantee the safety and prompt release of all Pakistani citizens unlawfully detained by Israeli forces.
It may be recalled that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami, was part of the “Global Samoud Flotilla” heading toward Gaza when Israeli forces attacked the convoy and detained several individuals, including Mushtaq Ahmad. While many participants have since been released, Mushtaq Ahmad and a few others remain in Israeli custody.
