The Corps Commanders Conference declared that any act of aggression by India would be met with an immediate and decisive response, and that any emerging “new normal” would be countered with a new, rapid and effective “counter-normal.”
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the 272nd Corps Commanders Conference was held at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi under the chairmanship of Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, where prayers were offered for the martyrs of India-sponsored terrorist attacks.
ISPR said the Army Chief praised the morale, determination and courage of Pakistan Army personnel engaged in the fight against foreign-sponsored terrorists, and commended the force’s role in flood relief and rehabilitation activities. The forum conducted a comprehensive review of counter-terrorism operations, emerging threats and operational preparedness, stressing that the Pakistan Army remains ready at all times to frustrate the malign designs of the country’s adversaries across all domains.
The conference observed that a nexus of terrorism and crime operating under certain political patronage is harming the interests of the state and its people, and said such collusion will no longer be tolerated. The forum also expressed serious concern over recent irresponsible and provocative statements by Indian political and military leadership, terming them part of a recurring pattern that fuels jingoistic fervor for political ends and risks increasing regional tensions and destabilizing peace. It affirmed that any concept of the enemy’s geographic superiority will be neutralized and countered effectively.
According to ISPR, the forum reiterated its resolve to dismantle the networks of terrorist groups operating under Indian sponsorship, including the “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan” networks, and said comprehensive counter-terrorism operations will continue. Participants welcomed Pakistan’s recent diplomatic achievements and reaffirmed their commitment to regional and global peace and stability.
The forum welcomed the historic Pakistan-Saudi Arabia strategic mutual defense agreement, describing it as a means to strengthen bilateral ties and to promote joint defensive cooperation against external aggression; it said the pact reflects mutual respect and shared values and embodies a common vision for regional peace and stability.
The conference reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom and urged recognition of their right to self-determination in accordance with relevant UN resolutions. It also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, called for an immediate ceasefire and urgent humanitarian relief for the people of Gaza, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance that the resolution of the Palestine issue lies in a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders with Jerusalem as the capital of a sovereign Palestinian state.
Finally, the Army Chief directed all commanders to maintain standards of operational readiness, discipline, physical fitness, modernization and accountability. Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed confidence in the Pakistan Army’s full capability and readiness, stating that the force is fully capable of countering threats of conventional, unconventional, hybrid or asymmetric nature.
