Sources within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed that Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, was to be removed from his position and replaced by Provincial Minister Sohaib Afridi. However, following these reports, the PTI leadership swiftly rejected the rumors, calling them baseless and misleading.
According to reports by Express News, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister Sohaib Afridi both issued separate statements denying any decision regarding a change in the provincial leadership. Barrister Gohar stated that the claims against Gandapur were entirely false and part of a deliberate conspiracy to create division within the party.
In his statement, Barrister Gohar said that spreading fabricated news was an attempt to weaken PTI, but the party remained united and strong. He emphasized that such conspiracies aim to sow internal discord, yet the party stands firmly behind Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Barrister Gohar further added that any attempt to divide PTI would be met with a firm and effective response. He vowed that the party would defend its unity on all platforms and would not allow those spreading misinformation to succeed.
Meanwhile, KP Education Minister Sohaib Afridi also refuted the rumors circulating on social media, stating that the reports naming him as the next chief minister were completely baseless and fabricated. He clarified that no decision had been made regarding a change in the provincial leadership and reaffirmed his loyalty and trust in Ali Amin Gandapur and Chairman Imran Khan.
