U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that he has received reports of potential conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan and announced that he will closely review the situation upon returning to the United States from his visit to Israel.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on his way from the U.S. to Israel, Trump said he had just learned about rising tensions between the two neighboring countries. “I will look into this matter carefully once I’m back, and if there’s a way to ease the situation, I will make every effort,” he stated.
Calling himself “a dealmaker and a peacemaker,” Trump recalled his previous efforts to prevent conflicts. He highlighted how he had once helped ease tensions between Pakistan and India through tariff strategies, which he claimed prevented the loss of thousands of lives.
Trump also referenced the Nobel Prize, saying his goal was not to win awards but to save lives. “I made major contributions in 2024 and have taken more significant global steps in 2025 for peace,” he said.
On Gaza, Trump asserted that the war is over and a permanent ceasefire will hold. He also announced that a “Board of Peace” will soon be established for Gaza and that the release of hostages will be achieved earlier than expected.
