US President Donald Trump has issued a clear warning to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that a war with Pakistan must not happen under any circumstances. He revealed that this message was delivered directly to Modi over a phone call.
Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office, Trump said he held a detailed conversation with Modi on the occasion of Diwali, during which trade and several other key issues were discussed. He emphasized that he is working to resolve matters through economic cooperation and trade.
Trump also said that China and European countries have imposed heavy tariffs on the US for years and that customs duties are a key tool to safeguard national security. He warned that without tariffs, the US economy would collapse.
The US President further stated that India will no longer purchase oil from Russia, marking a new chapter in economic relations between the two countries.
