Rawalpindi: Aleema Khan, sister of Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, once again failed to appear in court in connection with the November 22 protest case, following which the Anti-Terrorism Court issued her eighth non-bailable arrest warrant.
The court has issued new arrest warrants due to Aleema Khan’s continued absence, who has not appeared in court despite seven previous warrants.
According to details, the case has been registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, Rawalpindi, where charges of alleged violation of the law were filed during the November 22 protest. The case was heard by Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Amjad Ali Shah, who expressed anger over the non-appearance and clarified that the court has provided opportunities repeatedly but the accused is not appearing.
During the hearing, five witnesses and other co-accused appeared in court and recorded their statements. On the other hand, representatives of the State Bank were also present in the court and presented a written report regarding the freezing of Aleema Khan’s bank accounts.
