Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi arrived at Adiala Jail under full official protocol to meet the PTI founder; however, police stopped his convoy near a major security checkpoint close to the jail premises. As soon as the Chief Minister’s motorcade reached the Dahgal checkpoint, the heavy police deployment stationed there prevented the convoy from moving forward, resulting in the entire entourage being halted at the spot.
According to details, Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi had specially travelled to the jail for the meeting and was accompanied by Meena Khan and other party leaders. However, due to strict security protocols and administrative decisions, the Chief Minister’s convoy was not allowed to proceed toward the jail, creating a brief moment of heightened tension in the surrounding area.
Police officials stated that the personnel deployed at the checkpoint had been instructed not to allow any unauthorized individuals or convoys to approach the jail, and the same protocol was applied to the Chief Minister’s convoy. The jail administration has not yet issued an official explanation regarding why permission for the meeting was withheld.
