The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced the national Under-19 squad for the upcoming tri-nation series and the ICC Under-19 World Cup, confirming that Farhan Yousaf will continue to lead the side as captain.
The squad features one notable change, with Omar Zaib replacing Mohammad Hazifa, while the remaining players have been retained based on their consistent performances and potential at the junior level.
The selected squad includes captain Farhan Yousaf, vice-captain Usman Khan, Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Hassan Baloch, Ali Raza, Daniyal Ali Khan, Omar Zaib, Hamza Zahoor, Hazifa Ahsan, Momin Qamar, Muhammad Siyam, Muhammad Shayan, Naqaab Shafiq, and Sameer Minhas. All players have secured their spots owing to their strong displays in recent domestic and international junior competitions.
Recently, Pakistan Under-19 boosted their confidence by defeating the UAE by 70 runs in the Under-19 Asia Cup, securing a place in the semi-finals, which has further strengthened the team’s morale ahead of the upcoming challenges.
The tri-nation series is scheduled to be played in Zimbabwe from December 25 to January 6, featuring hosts Zimbabwe and Afghanistan alongside Pakistan. The national junior side will play at least four matches, giving the team an opportunity to solidify its combination before the World Cup.
The ICC Under-19 World Cup will be held from January 15 to February 6 in Zimbabwe and Namibia, with both tournaments played in the 50-over format.
