Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has said that colder weather is expected to intensify in Karachi, while light rain is also likely in the city tomorrow, which may further increase the chill.
According to the Met Department, humidity levels in the city are currently at 76 percent, and a western weather system may affect Karachi between Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing changes in weather conditions.
The department said that light winds are blowing from the northeast, while the maximum temperature in the city today is expected to remain between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, and over the next 24 hours, the weather is expected to remain dry during the day and cold at night.
Met Department spokesperson Anjum Nazeer said that light rain is expected in Karachi late on the night of December 30, while rainfall will continue in some areas of Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, and Tharparkar.
He added that this spell of rain across the country is likely to continue until January 2, with rainfall also expected in the plains of Punjab.
According to the spokesperson, snowfall intensity may be relatively higher in the upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leading to a further drop in temperatures.
