Quetta: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Quetta on a one-day official visit, where the federal government will focus on advancing ongoing initiatives related to development, education, and law and order in Balochistan.
According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was received at Quetta Airport by Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jafar Mandokhail and Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, while several federal ministers were also accompanying the prime minister during the visit.
Reports indicate that during his visit, the prime minister will chair a high-level meeting on the law and order and security situation in Balochistan, which will be attended by federal ministers as well as provincial officials. The meeting will review the current security environment, administrative challenges, and measures aimed at ensuring public safety.
Sources said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also lay the foundation stones of two major development projects in Quetta, which are being described as significant for the province’s economic and social development and are expected to generate employment opportunities at the local level.
In addition, the prime minister will inaugurate five Danish schools aimed at providing quality education in underdeveloped areas of Balochistan and improving educational facilities for the youth.
During his engagements, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet the chief minister of Balochistan, provincial authorities, and leaders of allied political parties to discuss key issues facing the province and review government strategies. He is also expected to meet tribal elders and local community leaders to discuss joint efforts for development and stability in the region.
Sources further said that important meetings with senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-N are also expected, focusing on ongoing development projects, educational initiatives, and broader political matters.
