Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been denied permission to hold a public rally during the visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to Karachi, while the Sindh government has announced that official protocol will be provided to him during his stay.
According to sources, authorities have refused to grant permission for a public gathering due to security concerns. PTI President Raja Azhar had sought approval to hold a public rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah on January 11, but the administration declined the request, citing the prevailing security situation.
Following the refusal, PTI has begun considering alternative options for holding a public gathering. Sources said that party leadership is exploring plans to call workers and public convoys from across the city to gather near Mazar-e-Quaid.
According to sources, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi will first visit Mazar-e-Quaid to pay his respects and is expected to address the public there afterward. PTI leaders have stated that all activities will be carried out peacefully and in accordance with the law.
