Karachi: The port city is currently experiencing severe cold weather, with a significant drop in temperature causing discomfort for residents. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Karachi has fallen to as low as 6 degrees Celsius, intensifying the cold conditions across the city.
The department stated that the weather is expected to remain dry over the next 24 hours, while cold conditions will persist during nighttime. The minimum temperature is likely to range between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius, while the overall minimum temperature recorded in the city stands at 8.1 degrees Celsius.
Officials said that temperature variations were observed across different parts of the city last night. The lowest temperature of 6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jinnah Terminal, while Gulistan-e-Johar and Shahrah-e-Faisal recorded a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius. In Mauripur, the temperature dropped to 10 degrees Celsius, while Bin Qasim recorded a minimum of 10.5 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department added that the maximum temperature in Karachi during the day is expected to reach up to 24 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels remain at 44 percent, while northeast winds are blowing at a speed of 7 kilometers per hour, further adding to the chill in the air.
