The Sindh government has announced a public holiday in all public and private educational institutions across the province on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj, allowing citizens to observe this sacred night with devotion and religious focus.
In this regard, an official notification has been issued by the Sindh government, stating that all schools, colleges, and other educational institutions throughout the province will remain closed on January 17. The notification clarifies that all academic activities will remain suspended for the day.
According to the provincial government, the decision to declare a holiday has been taken into consideration of public sentiments and the religious significance of Shab-e-Meraj so that people may participate wholeheartedly in prayers, worship, and other religious activities associated with the night.
It is pertinent to note that Shab-e-Meraj is one of the most sacred events in Islamic history, commemorated with special prayers, religious gatherings, and recitations across the country, as Muslims attach great spiritual importance to worship on this blessed night.
