Iran has reopened its airspace after a temporary suspension. Amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, the country had closed its airspace for all types of flights for a limited period, which disrupted air traffic operations.
According to sources, only international flights were allowed to use the airspace during this period under special permission, while restrictions remained in place for other flights. Foreign media reports stated that Iran restored air traffic after keeping the airspace closed for nearly five hours.
The closure affected the schedules of several flights and caused operational disruptions, leading to inconvenience for passengers.
Meanwhile, a German airline has announced the suspension of nighttime flights to Israel, which will remain halted until January 19. In a related development, the United States has already barred its commercial flights from using Iranian airspace.
