Following the spread of the Nipah virus in India, the Sindh Health Department has issued a precautionary advisory, urging the public and healthcare institutions to remain vigilant.
According to the department, the virus can be transmitted from animals to humans and from humans to humans; however, no case of the Nipah virus has been reported in Pakistan so far.
The advisory states that the Nipah virus may spread due to various factors, while its early symptoms include fever, headache, cough, body aches, and vomiting. Members of the public have been advised to seek immediate medical consultation if any such symptoms appear and to follow preventive measures.
The Sindh Health Department said that the situation is being closely monitored and that all public and private hospitals across the province have been placed on alert. Officials added that full compliance with the guidelines issued by the federal health ministry is being ensured to prevent any potential outbreak.
