The Muslim community will celebrate Shab-e-Barat today with great devotion, respect, and spiritual fervor.
On the occasion of this blessed night, a special night vigil has been organized in mosques, Imambargahs, and religious centers across the country, where the children of Islam will be engaged in performing Nawafil prayers, reciting the Quran, remembering Allah, and sending blessings and greetings.
Scholars have said in their messages on this occasion that Shab-e-Barat is the great night in which Allah Almighty forgives His servants and grants salvation from countless sins.
On the occasion of Shab-e-Barat, citizens flock to mosques in large numbers, where voluntary prayers are performed throughout the night. Believers pray for themselves, their families, the deceased, and the entire Muslim community. Mosques host recitations, hymns, and spiritual gatherings, in which scholars expound on the virtues of Shab-e-Barat, its spiritual significance, and exhort people to repent and seek forgiveness.
Shab-e-Barat is also known as Laylat al-Mubarak and Laylat al-Rahma. According to scholars, this night is actually the night of renewal of the relationship between the servant and the Lord, when a person expresses regret for his past sins and vows to follow the path of goodness in the future. On this night, prayers are offered to Allah Almighty for forgiveness, blessings in sustenance, health, and the good of this world and the hereafter.
Foolproof security arrangements have also been made to ensure peace and order on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has issued instructions for strict security measures across the province. The Lahore Police have also deployed additional personnel across the city, while elite force personnel are also present at sensitive locations.
Scholars say that Shab-e-Barat is not just about worship, but it is a night of self-reflection, self-improvement, and establishing a strong connection with Allah Almighty. Believers prefer to spend this night with awareness, sincerity, and humility rather than heedlessness so that they can benefit from the mercy and blessings of the Almighty.
