The Pakistan Railways has announced that train services from Quetta to interior parts of the country and Chaman will remain suspended today as well, causing continued inconvenience for passengers. Railway officials stated that the services could not be restored due to ongoing security and administrative reasons.
According to officials, the Bolan Mail operating between Karachi and Quetta will also remain suspended until February 12, forcing travelers between the two cities to rely on alternative modes of transport.
Railway authorities further said that the continued suspension of train services from Balochistan to interior regions and Chaman has resulted in financial losses exceeding Rs 3 million so far, with the losses expected to increase if the disruption continues.
Meanwhile, road connectivity has also been severely affected, as the Dera Ismail Khan–Loralai national highway linking Punjab with Balochistan and the Quetta–Taftan national highway have remained closed for the past five days, disrupting passenger travel and goods transportation.
