Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the suicide bomber at the Imambargah in Islamabad was a Pakistani national who had recently visited Afghanistan.
He said that the attack was carried out to hinder Pakistan’s development, and the terrorists chose an opportunity when Pakistan had signed important agreements with two countries.
Khawaja Asif said that India cannot dare to directly invade but is trying to destroy peace in Pakistan through its proxies and Afghanistan. The Defense Minister further said that the attacker came to Islamabad from Nowshera, and action was taken after reaching his relatives.
He clarified that there is coordination between the federal government and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government regarding terrorism, and now it appears that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is taking ownership of the war against terrorism.
