The first solar eclipse of the year will occur today worldwide; however, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the phenomenon will not be visible in Pakistan.
The department stated that the solar eclipse will be visible in certain parts of Africa and South America, while it will not be observable in Pakistan as the sun will not be positioned for viewing at that time.
According to the department, a partial solar eclipse will be visible in parts of the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Indian Ocean, while the complete annular view, known as the Ring of Fire, will only be visible in specific areas of Antarctica. This phenomenon occurs when the moon passes directly in front of the sun but does not completely cover it, leaving a ring-like appearance.
The Meteorological Department stated that the eclipse will begin at 2:56 pm Pakistan time and will reach its peak at 5:12 pm. The eclipse is expected to end at 7:28 pm, after which the sun will return to its normal state.
The department further stated that a total of two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses will occur this year, which will be visible in different regions of the world.
