With the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan in the United Kingdom, several supermarkets have announced significant reductions in the prices of essential food items to provide relief to the Muslim community, aiming to ease financial pressures during the sacred month.
The primary objective of this initiative is to facilitate consumers in meeting their increased household needs during Ramadan by offering essential commodities at discounted rates, thereby helping families manage their expenses more effectively.
According to a news agency, the price of a 10-kilogram bag of flour has been reduced by nearly half with the arrival of Ramadan, making it considerably more affordable compared to previous rates. Similarly, a flour bag previously priced at £12.50 is now being sold for just £6.25, providing noticeable savings to customers.
Meanwhile, rice prices have also witnessed a substantial reduction, with savings of up to £5 being offered on a 10-kilogram bag, while a 5-kilogram bag is available with a discount of up to £3, significantly lowering household expenditure.
These discounted measures have been introduced to provide economic relief to Muslim families during Ramadan and to address their increased needs, and the initiative has been widely welcomed by members of the community.
