The Meteorological Department has forecast that during the holy month of Ramadan, particularly in the last days of February and the beginning of March, rain is expected in the upper regions of the country. According to officials, a new spell of westerly winds is likely to enter the country, primarily affecting mountainous areas.
Officials stated that due to this system of westerly winds, rainfall is expected in hilly regions, while light snowfall may also occur at certain locations. As a result of this weather system, a temporary drop in temperature is anticipated, which may increase the intensity of cold conditions for a short period.
Regarding Karachi, the Meteorological Department clarified that there is no forecast of rain in the city. However, fog may develop in suburban areas over the coming days. Experts explained that following the restoration of sea breezes, the level of humidity in the air has increased, which could lead to fog formation during early morning and nighttime hours.
Authorities further stated that from the second week of March, an increase in heat intensity is expected in Karachi. Over the next few days, daytime temperatures are likely to remain between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures in view of the changing weather conditions and to take care of their health.
Meanwhile, dry weather is expected in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, while cold conditions are likely to persist in upper areas during morning and nighttime hours. In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius with 29 percent humidity. The temperature in Kalam Swat was recorded at zero degrees, 4 degrees in Malam Jabba, 5 degrees in Parachinar, and 6 degrees in Dir, Timergara, and Chitral. In Dera Ismail Khan, the minimum temperature was 13 degrees, while Bannu recorded 12 degrees Celsius.
