Sindh Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Lanjar has stated that strict and effective decisions have become necessary in view of past incidents and accidents. He emphasized the need to formulate comprehensive and clear standard operating procedures to ensure a quick response at the site of any incident.
An important meeting regarding security threats was held under the chairmanship of the Home Minister, during which the Home Secretary, Inspector General of Sindh, and other relevant officials briefed him in detail about the prevailing security situation. The meeting reviewed law and order requirements and potential threats across the province.
On the occasion, the Home Minister said that due to excessive crowding at the airport, security arrangements must be made foolproof. He clarified that only one to two individuals would be allowed at the airport pick and drop point to avoid unnecessary congestion.
The Sindh Home Minister further directed that the police strengthen coordination with all law enforcement agencies. He instructed that modern search devices be made available in all prisons across the province and that female search staff be mandatorily deployed at entry and exit points at the provincial level.
