The Gilgit-Baltistan government has officially implemented a four-day workweek, issuing a formal notification that introduces three weekly holidays to improve administrative efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
According to details, following the federal policy, the regional government has adopted the four-day working schedule and enforced the new system through an official notification.
Under the new policy, government offices in Gilgit-Baltistan will operate from Monday to Thursday, while Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be observed as holidays, allowing employees three days off each week.
The initiative aims to enhance administrative performance while ensuring efficient use of energy resources amid current challenges.
It is noteworthy that, in light of ongoing regional tensions, authorities are also considering implementing a smart lockdown across the country, along with a proposed hybrid working model for one month to conserve energy and fuel.
